Michael Johnson (Full Potential Associates), Board Nomination Statement

Dear Fellow IDPF Members,

I submit my nomination for election to the IDPF Board of Directors.

As true momentum builds around all aspects of the eBook marketplace, we are in a great position to expand on the excellent work that has been done at IDPF over these past many years. With the continued hard work on refining and strengthening of file formats ahead of us, it is also time to broaden the membership and exposure of the IDPF itself.

Having been involved with the IDPF even before it was the IDPF, I have experience that spans some real history. I also have a vision to the future where the IDPF and its format/standards work become the center of the digital content conversation.

Through my almost two decades of work with many different companies inside of Follett Corporation, I have seen numerous digital projects come and go, from the retail, higher-Ed, and library markets. Over the past 14 months as President of Full Potential Associates, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of organizations, worldwide, addressing digital issues.
I would like to help to continue pushing the industry forward and therefore I hereby self-nominate for an open seat on the board.
