Membership: Membership Reforms in the IDPF

Membership Reforms in the IDPF

On Wednesday, October 12th, 2005, the voting membership in the IDPF voted to change the IDPF bylaws to enact a series of membership reforms.  The reforms are intended to increase participation and privileges for all IDPF members and to increase the diversity of future members of the organization.

The changes to organization give all members significant additional rights and privileges which were previously reserved for IDPF's Principal Members.  All members of the IDPF now have:
  • Voting privileges in the organization for specification, Board, corporate document and other important organizational votes
  • The ability lead Working Groups and Special Interest Groups
  • The ability to present charters to the Board of Directors for the creation of Working Groups
  • The ability to run for and serve on the Board of Directors

It is important that all of the membership of the IDPF take these new responsibilities seriously and respond to membership votes when called.

As a result of these reforms, dues structures in the organization previously based on categories of membership, are now based on revenue of the member company.  Membership dues, as always, will be billed on a rolling annual basis.  To review the new membership application, dues and benefits, please see the IDPF Member Application.
